We also convey our deepest sympathies to the Mmegi/The Monitor newspapers team, the broader journalism fraternity and the nation at large. Mosikare was more than a journalist. He was a passionate storyteller, a dedicated reporter and a promising voice in Botswana’s media landscape. His untimely passing is not just a loss to his loved ones but a significant blow to the country’s nascent and growing media industry. It was only recently that the media community mourned the loss of another young professional, a business editor from The Botswana Guardian and The Midweek Sun, Koobonye Ramokopelwa. To now be mourning yet another vibrant journalist is heartbreaking. These young lives carried the future of ethical journalism, critical inquiry and public engagement in their hands. MISA Botswana stands in solidarity with all who mourn at this difficult time. We honour Mosikare’s contributions to journalism and we urge the nation to keep his family and colleagues in prayer. Let us continue to support and protect the voices that work tirelessly to inform, empower and connect our society.
