I deserve to play-Moalosi

The dazzling midfielder says that playing regularly for Rollers will open doors for him to pursue a career abroad.

'I have a dream of playing abroad especially in South Africa but I cannot achieve this when I am warming the bench.

Every time I am brought in as a substitute, I help the team but surprisingly the next game, I am back to the bench,' he cries.

Moalosi said he has what it takes to be a regular and though he has not heard from the coaching staff why they bench him, he will continue working hard for the team.

The player is reported to be a target of South African powerhouse, Orlando Pirates.
'When I was doing Form Four (2005), I attended trials at Pirates where I trained with the junior team.

I impressed them and they wanted to sign me, but because of school commitments I had to come back home,' he says.

He says Pirates' officials came to watch him during the African Child's Day commemoration game in Mafikeng last year while he was playing for the national Under-20 and they seemed impressed.

The Pirates' interest in his abilities is what pushes him to excel every time he is given a chance. 'Believe me, it is frustrating to be in my position but I will keep on believing that things will be fine,' he said.

Moalosi who was a regular early this season and contributed immensely when Rollers registered straight wins now faces stiff competition from the likes of Mohammed Chawila, Joel Mogorosi and Thapelo 'Pepe' Balepi who are often fielded ahead of him by Zimbabwean coach Rahman Gumbo.

'The other thing which is frustrating me about sitting on the bench is that recently, I have been dropped from the national team (Zebras) because I am not playing regularly at Rollers.

I cannot blame the national team coach for dropping me. I badly want to play for Zebras but as things stand, there is nothing I can do,' says the Otse-born star.

Moalosi joined Rollers in 2007 after recommendation from the then coach, Daniel 'Chicco' Nare and became an instant hero.

The player has confidence that Rollers can win the be MOBILE Premier League despite the fact that the competition has become a two-horse race between leaders Gaborone United (GU) and defending champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Rollers are fourth on the log with 33 points, nine behind GU and seven behind Chiefs.

'We have a chance to win the league if we remain focused. The good thing is that the players have started believing we can do it.

My problem is that we let our opponents to score first and we start chasing the game which is difficult,' he says.

Moalosi asserts that there is no denying that GU and Chiefs are going to be the main threats but the third-placed BDF XI cannot be ruled out. 'People are not mentioning BDF XI in this race but they are in there with a chance.

They have class and can come from nowhere to spoil the party for other championship-chasing sides,' he says.

Meanwhile, Nare is full of praises about Moalosi saying that he is the kind of player who can win games.

'With his skill, he can turn the game in your favour in a split second. Unfortunately, some systems do not accommodate him. He needs to remain focused and respect his coaches.

If he has a problem with staying on the bench, he must approach the coach rather than make conclusions,' said Nare.

The Extension Gunners' coach said what he likes about Moalosi is that he is disciplined and listens to instructions.

'If there is a player I would not mind signing in the next transfer window, it is him,' said Nare.
