Garbed in Setswana wear, some of the senior citizens could only waddle, toddle and shuffle.  The contestants were named after local and international musicians whose music was the soundtrack of the night.

The youth, some of whom were their children and grandchildren, filled the Tlhalogang Junior Secondary School hall to the rafters and cheered throughout the show. Kgathego Raditsebe, 54 who went by the tag of Zahara and catwalked to the melodies of Loliwe, was crowned the queen.

Alice Mbusi, 54, otherwise referred to as Slizer on the night, emerged first princess, with 58-year-old Sarah 'Shakira' Ramohota coming third.

Christened Charma-gal after Culture Spears Traditional Group and Ekentolo's Magdeline Mogwe, she was undoubtedly the most popular out of all the contestants. The 76-year-old woman's shuffling on the floor must have been her undoing as she could not even make it to the top five out of the 18 contestants.  It was instead Slizer, Zahara, Shakira, Ciara and Eve who made the top five.

The contestants first paraded in Leteisi, Setswana shawls and doeks embroidered with the national flag colours. They then changed into casual smart gowns complete with make-up and great hair dos. They beamed with confidence and smiled from ear-to-ear, evidently enjoying themselves. The Chadibe Development Association (CDA) organised the beauty contest. The event was themed, Itshidilo Mo Botsogong, to encourage the elderly to keep fit through regular exercise.
