He says that he started modelling at a very young age. 'I started modelling for Pep Stores advertising their clothes while I was still young.  I then stop modelling to focus on other things. It was only when I relocated to Gaborone that I joined Madame Queen Modelling Agency in 2011 and started modelling professionally,' says the 22-year-old.

He asserts that his road to modelling has been an easy one as both his parents and six siblings have been supportive.

The model says that he started as an amateur but because he was willing to learn, he rose though the ranks until the owner of Madame Queen Modelling Agency, Queen Kolobe appointed him the senior male model at the agency.

Ever since, Cendric has appeared in a number of top modelling events in the country.  The tall and slim model has walked the ramp at Riverwalk, BBS and Airport Junction malls to promote clothes from several stores and shop magazines.

The ambitious model is originally from Tonota although he was raised in Selebi-Phikwe.  So far, the highlight of his career was when he joined the select group of models who walked the ramp during the President's Day Fashion Show and the Independence Day Fashion Show.

Cendric asserts that the exposure that he got as a model so far has made him a better person and that nowadays, he can easily interact with people.

'I used to be very shy but nowadays the shyness has gone and I have gained a lot of confidence.  I can also do public speaking which was not easy before I joined the industry,' he says.

The model is happy that the government has started  recognising modelling as a profession.  He says this means that the industry is set to grow.  Cendric says that other males who aspire to be models should take the plunge as agencies are always on the look out for those who meet the grade.

'I have noticed that local modelling agencies are always on the look out for tall, slim and dark males like me so if you are out there and fit the bill, you must try your hand in modelling.  This is not to say those potential models with light complexions should not join the industry because there are some clothes that look nice on them,' he says.

Cendric is a human resource management student at IDM.  He says that although the modelling industry does not pay much, he aspires to become an international model.
