Besides the athlete, the other members of Black Brothers are Boitshepo Wilson and Boemo Bakang. They all hail from Amos' home village of Marobela. The group was formed in 2012 and has released an album called Summer Time featuring songs like Destiny and Joclenah. Amos is one of Botswana's youngest millionaires. He gave the country its first medal in the Olympics when he finished second in a London race last year in his specialty.
After the Serowe show, he told Showbiz that he only performs and records songs during breaks in the athletics season.
'That way, I do not disturb my athletics, which is my main job. It also means that I can easily interact with most of my fans as we go around performing in different places,' he explained. He said he has always loved music and harboured ambitions to release an album. 'This group (Black Brothers) offers me that platform to exhibit my talent to Batswana, so that they don't just know about my running only. However, running remains my greatest passion and something close to my heart because it made me what I am now,' Amos said.
ATI hailed the new group saying that it gave a good performance given the way the crowd reacted. 'I think they rocked. In terms of music you judge someone's performance based on the crowd's reaction. I think it was a great performance based on that because the crowd was enjoying his performance. Some of them met me to tell me they loved him (Amos),' the young rapper said.
