The Botswana Football Association (BFA) never specified the reasons for the suspension and matters are not helped by the fact that the parties have failed to agree on a date for a hearing.

In the accusations and counter-accusations, Olopeng says the BFA always sets an inconvenient date for the hearing, while the association insists that the suspended man is full of excuses when summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee.

'I have informed the BFA disciplinary committee that they should come up with a date during the weekend because during the week, I am not available. The last time I wanted some documents from them, but they were not availed. I believe that my suspension is personal. It is not like the committee wanted to resolve anything or I had done something wrong,' said Olopeng.

He is disappointed that when he communicates with BFA, he does not get a response. The suspended chairperson vowed to deal with the BFA accordingly.

BFA president, Tebogo Sebego has told Mmegi Sport that Olopeng always has excuses when called for a hearing. Sebego said the matter is still before the BFA disciplinary committee.

Olopeng was suspended in October 2012 when he was outside the country. He told Mmegi Sport this week that the BFA is taking too long to resolve the matter but he will not give up the fight for his re-instatement. He explained that whenever the BFA calls him for a hearing, the dates they propose are always not suitable for him.

Meanwhile, Olopeng said the First Division North league is in disarray due to lack of leadership. He said that the league did not end properly last season. He stated that it is disappointing to see teams still going for play-offs when the league is supposed to start. He labelled this as a sign of poor leadership. Olopeng suggested that the BFA should sit down and resolve such issues before it is too late.
