Besides, Motlakase Power Dynamos, the club behind the project, had financial constraints and could not sustain the construction.

Club chairperson, Samuel Kealotswe said they used a lot of money to fund the team's constant travels as they had no suitable venue in Palapye.

There has been some respite this season as the team plays its home games at the Palapye Swallows Ground.

Kealotswe said construction at their new facility will resume next week after the parking space problem is resolved.

Motlakase started an ambitious project to build its own stadium in 2009, but work stalled at the initial stages.

The stadium had been walled and the next stage was to lay the playing surface.

Kealotswe said they used a lot of money in the initial stage of the project because the area where the venue is located is rocky. The grassing will be done by a local company, Green Africa. It is expected to cost around P600,000.

Kealotswe would not say if the club has sufficient money to complete the project. 'We are businesspeople and we can always plan something,' he told Mmegi Sport. Kealotswe said they will start using the venue after the turf is laid even though the stadium will be incomplete.

'Other things like terraces will be completed while we continue to use the venue,' he said.

He said their wish is to start using the venue at the beginning of next year. An estimated P2.5 million would have been used by the end of the second phase.
