Black Forest claim Letlapeng used a defaulter

The First Division South executive committee that is still to set a date for the ruling has heard the case.

Forest manager Mompati Ditiro told Mmegi Sport that they had submitted a protest before the executive committee after suspecting that goalkeeper Nelson Sibanda was not registered properly.

They believe that when they played against Letlapeng, Sibanda was still a Wonder Sporting player. Ditiro claimed that after the game, the player went back to Wonder Sporting. He was not in a position to shed more details on the issue because the matter was still before the executive committee.

Letlapeng chairperson Sydney Magagane said the player was registered during the transfer window period.  He said that Forest had stated in their letter of protest that they had evidence that Sibanda was a defaulter during the game.

Magagane said Forest had made claims that the player had two blue books, but that was not true.

“When the case was brought before the executive committee, Forest complained that they would not be given a fair hearing claiming that most of the people in the panel were related to Letlapeng. This is a football matter and it should be dealt with by football people,” said Magagane.

Magagane stated that the committee was empowered to make a ruling on the matter even in the absence of the club.  He said that Letlapeng had three goalkeepers and Sibanda was loaned from Wonder to strengthen the squad. He said that the goalkeeper was still training with the team even though he had not been playing. Magagane said there was nothing wrong that Letlapeng had done and claims by Forest were baseless.
