Debswana sponsorship launch postponed - again

First Division South League chairperson Samuel Keitireng told Mmegi Sport that the delays were caused by the procurement of branded kits and banners. He said he had been aware that the launch would not go ahead as planned because he was part of the BFA executive committee.  The process is taking long and the launch will be done once everything has been completed, he said.

Keitireng said fixtures would continue to avoid delays in the completion of the league. Another suitable date to launch the sponsorship will be set.

Black Forest team manager Mompati Ditiro said they were in the dark about the launch of the sponsorship. He said that they were looking forward to the launch, but to learn that it has been postponed was a disappointment. Ditiro complained that teams were not kept in the loop about the sponsorship. First Division South Secretary Sydney Magagane said clubs had not been informed by the BFA about the changes. He said that even their chairperson had failed to tell them about the date being pushed forward.

He said that he personally made enquiries from BFA about the launch only to be informed that it had been postponed.

He said at the beginning of the season they had to make some changes to the league fixtures to make way for the launch, which was scheduled for November 11. The game that was set aside for the day of the launch was between Letlapeng and Killer Giants.

The First Division League was given a P6-million sponsorship by Debswana Mining Company in 2012.

The games will continue this weekend with Letlapeng playing against Killer Giants at Siga ground. Mochudi Buffaloes will welcome Masitaoka in Mochudi. Rolling Boys will travel to Gantsi to meet Terrors. Modipane United entertain Mogoditshane Fighters.

On Sunday, Black Forest will play against Prisons XI in Mmankgodi and Black Peril takes on Jwaneng Comets in Tlokweng.
