The announcement of this year's nominees, which were held on Friday, raised the question of whether our local artists are not taking their image seriously?

Even though some disappointed in terms of wowing in looks, some sure did take consideration of their outfits as they managed to grab people's attention.

Kwaito Kwasa star Odirile 'Vee' Sento once again did not disappoint as he came looking all breath taking in a yellow inspired outfit. The Eita hitmaker opted to wear a more relaxed outfit when he rocked yellow pants that were complemented by a yellow and grey stripped t-shirt with a grey sweater.

The artist who is nominated for three awards for his latest offering told Showtime that he is confident that he will take home the song of the year award for his Eita.

'I am not scared of the artists that I am up against although some of them are my friends and winning might damage our friendship, but in the end we are all artists trying to survive,' he said.Another artist who turned heads was Afro jazz artist Thabang Gaarogwe who looked stylish in a shinning suit complete with a short pair of trousers. The young man even impressed BOMU members as he was asked to stand so that people could see the attire that is required for such events.  Although he only managed to be nominated for the best Afro jazz award, he sure would have won the best-dressed award for the day.

Lozibo was his old self, looking smart in a suit while gospel singer Shuggie Fisher was beautiful in a blue dress that complemented her figure. The songbird walked away with two nominations including for Best female.

Show stopper A.T.I this time around did not go overboard with his dress-up or is it down.  He looked smart in a normal but stylish suit that could also be worn on an outing with friends.

Although there has been a lot of controversy surrounding him and his music, the hip pop artist managed to walk away with three nominations including for Best album.

The BOMU awards will be held on the night of December 16 with tickets on sale at P250 each.
