Shot in the arm for rugby side ahead of Zim trip

Speaking during the kit handover on Wednesday, Leco Botswana manager, Virender Marya wished the squad well and encouraged the players to do their best when they get to Bulawayo. “It is our pleasure to be giving the little we could give to the boys. As you are the future of the nation, we want you to be healthy and fit. I wish you all the best, go and fly the Botswana flag high and make us proud,” Marya said.

The squad comprises 30 players selected from the grassroots development programme, Re Ba Bona Ha.

Re Ba Bona Ha chairperson, Dikakanyo Kealese applauded the business community for assisting them whenever they are in need. He said the support plays a big role in nurturing and developing the young players. He encouraged the players to take sports seriously as they can make a living out of it.

“I encourage you to take sport seriously and play well in Bulawayo because your win will mean a lot not only to Re Ba Bona Ha team but also to Batswana. Show the discipline we teach you and conduct yourself well,” said Kealese.

The Re Bba Bona Ha rugby team coordinator, Thusego Segaise also wished the squad well. “I would like to wish you well and hope you will enjoy your short trip to Zimbabwe,” he said.
