Men’s defending champions BDF VI play two stubborn sides, Diphatsa and Kutlwano as they battle to retain the title.  Diphatsa and Kutlwano, placed second and third respectively, are sure to offer stiff resistance. BDF VI are ahead with 66 points, just a point ahead of Diphatsa who are keen to pounce on any slip-up.

BDF VI can, however, still afford to lose both their remaining games and be crowned champions provided they lose each game by a 3-2 scoreline.

Such a scenario will see BDF VI end with 68 points, which is the same number Diphatsa can accumulate, but the former has won a high number sets, giving them the edge.

The championship battle is left between the two teams and Diphatsa will hope to receive some favours from rivals, Kutlwano.  Diphatsa can only win the league if BDF VI lose the two games 3-2, although on current form it looks highly unlikely.  A mother of all battles is therefore when the two teams clash in Molepolole in what should be a title decider. Should BDF win they will be crowned champions but in case they lose volleyball fans will have to wait for the outcome of the encounter between Kutlwano and BDF.  The game was rescheduled to December 7 following a power cut last weekend. An interesting battle is also expected in the women’s league where top sides, Mafolofolo and Kutlwano, are still in with a chance.  Both teams have lost once and will both collect 52 points if they win their remaining games. Mafolofolo is left with one match against Kalavango while Kutlwano is to play Spiking Stars, Prisons and BDF VI. Kutlwano will have to guard against dropping sets to be able to retain the title. They have an advantage against Mafolofolo because they have lost seven sets, two less than their rivals.
