Tonota holds BB Highlanders

BR Highlanders, under the tutelage of a veteran coach, Paul 'Malome' Moyo, created a number of chances but were unable to find a way past a resolute Sepondo Se A Debula defence.

Highlanders started the match positively with young left-winger Otlaarongwa Nthumolang, giving the opponents a torrid time.

With the advantage of the wind behind their backs, Highlanders was expected to roll over the Tonota side. However, they could not utilise the wind advantage.

In the middle of the pack, Motlhatlhobi Omphile looked threatening and could have found a goal for the visitors in the 25th minute but Thabo Race - in goal for Tonota - was equal to the task. The pint-sized Boikobo Osupile caused havoc on the right and on several occasions, he pierced through the Tonota defence but he could not finish.

The game swung from end to end but the goals did not come. After the break, the wind stopped much to the disappointment of the home side who wanted to capitalise on it. Highlanders upped the tempo in the second half with left back, Brian Kobe forming a deadly partnership with Nthumolang on the left.

The exciting Kobe frequently dribbled past defenders into the danger zone but failed to score. He was particularly elusive when he combined with Nthumolang.
