Teachers unleash musical talent

This was the fourth annual event held by the Botswana Sectors of Educations Trade Union (BOSETU) members where they raise funds for the disadvantaged sections of society.

On Friday they hosted Christmas carols at main mall and managed to give the SOS children early Christmas presents.

Kick starting the programme was cultural outfit 'Bana ba Ntogwa', the group that brides its self in celebrating Ikalanga  culture performed  songs from their latest offerings including Mamazala, Mandebele and Zhongololo. The songs and dances seemed to do a splendid job in warming up the crowd that patiently waited a while before the proceedings started.

Not wanting to be outshined on their day, the BOSETU traditional group stepped on stage and performed magically. The group told different stories in a form of dance that impressed the crowd  judging by the amount of cheering they received. Dressed beautifully in traditional outfits and with voices to match.

Another act that blew many away was displayed by BOSETU choir. The choir did justice to songs like Masawana, Ndayana and Chorus. The song that seemed popular was 'Chorus' where the choir challenged the audience in singing with them to check their vocal abilities. The gifted choir has also been invited to go perform in South Africa next year.

This performance was followed by yet another unbelievable talented band by BOSETU. The band raised the  bar  a little higher when they performed cover songs of famous artistes including the likes of Ringo's Sthando same and Mtukuzi's  what shall we do.

As if this was not enough, Charma gal spiced things up when she took to stage.

The energetic lady raised the bar when she performed her famous hit 'Matebele' which had many leaving their chairs to the dance flow. She later on did songs from her latest album which people also seemed to enjoy.

She was then followed by a powerful performance by Culture spears.

The group did not disappoint as they gave a splendid performance of the famous songs.  The choreographed dances and attires blended beautifully with their melodical voices.

The food was also to die for as the menu included traditional food like seswaa, dumplings, sorghum, and other  popular local dishes.

The event was grazed by Kgosi Kgolo of the Balete Kgosi Mosadi Seboko who applauded teachers for a great job they are doing in building future leaders.
