The two giants lock horns at SSKB Stadium in what promises to be an interesting game at 4:00 pm.
Two points separate BDF XI and second-placed Township Rollers. However, Matebele as BDF XI are popularly known, have a game in hand.
They will be playing their 14th match of the season today. They have collected 32 points already and will reach 35 if they win, while Rollers can only reach 33 if they are victorious in their last match of the first round.
BDF XI finished third in the league last season and look much stronger this time around. BMC, on the other hand, are desperate to catch up after falling behind schedule due to their ownership squabbles at the beginning of the season.
They have been forced to play back-to-back games and coach Daniel ‘Dance’ Nare has been on record to complain about the fixture congestion.
This afternoon the two sides will be meeting for the third time this season after playing to a 1-1 draw in the first leg and 2-2 in the second leg of the Mascom Top 8 quarter-final.
BDF XI will pin their hopes on two strikers, Mokgathi Mokgathi and Saukani Zulu, who have been key in the team’s success this season.
On the other hand, BMC seem to have given Sageby Sandaka a new lease of life. The former Gaborone United striker has re-discovered his scoring formula, drawing blood nine times in 12 matches.
BMC will move from position 13 to position 10 if they collect the full points and would have two games in hand.
