DC shelves BMC/ Rollers case

BMC have protested that Rollers used Kenanao Kgetholetsile and Motsholetsi Sikele, who they claim are still in their books, in the game they lost 2-1.

Chiefs have also lodged a complaint that Rollers fielded the two players when they bundled them out of the Mascom Top 8.

The BMC/Rollers case has been postponed to December 19. As its outcome has a bearing on the Chiefs’ protest, theirs have also been shelved to the same day.

The two players joined Rollers from BMC at the beginning of the season together with Leutlwetse Tshireletso. Kgetholetsile scored one of the goals, while Sikele missed a penalty in the game against BMC.

Rollers’ representative, Samantha Mbikiwa, told the DC that they were only notified late on Tuesday about the hearing.

She asked for the postponement so that they could prepare for the hearing. BMC also asked for more time to prepare for the case.

The DC chairperson, Busang Manewe, reminded the two clubs that protests had to be dealt with in 14 days as per Botswana Football association (BFA) Play Rules and Regulations. They agreed to deal with the matter on December 19.

BMC are expected to file and serve Rollers with the necessary papers by this Friday. Rollers will then do the same by next Tuesday, allowing BMC to file replications if any by the end of business on December 18.

The DC also postponed cases of misconduct levelled at Chiefs, officials, players and coach committed in the game against Rollers to Thursday. The reason advanced by the DC is that it would listen to many cases on Wednesday.

Chiefs as a club have been charged with two counts of misconduct while players and officials were also charged on their individual capacity. One of the officials, Sebele Morakanyane, has been charged with three counts of misconduct. Justice Modimakwane and Ntshole Ntshole have been charged with one count of misconduct.

Team captain Pontsho Moloi and defender Michael Mogaladi have been charged with two counts of misconduct each. Coach Dragoljo Stanojlovic has also been slapped with one count of misconduct.

Meanwhile, BDF XI’s case emanating from taking football matters to court has also been moved to January 9.

BDF XI had successfully taken the BPL to court for postponing their league match against Centre Chiefs to make way for a friendly against Kaizer Chiefs.

BDF XI representatives asked for more time because they wanted to call about four witnesses.
