Committee working hard to turn Notwane around

Former club owner Mogapi had not paid players for three months which resulted in some of them being thrown out of their lodgings for failing to pay rent.

Since then the team has been struggling and is currently languishing at the bottom of the log.  However, the head of communications, Cyrus Mogashoa is confident that they will be able to turn things around.

“We are ready to make sure that we fight as a team.

People should not rule us out. We will do our level best to become a force to reckon with,” he vowed.  Mogashoa said his committee was appointed by the mother body to run the affairs of the team and had nothing to do with Mogapi.

He said some of their responsibilities were to see to it that the team was able to train. They are also responsible for the welfare of the team.

The official said their first game they were in charge of the team was the away match against Tafic which Notwane lost 3-2 last week.

He said they able to leave on time for the Francistown match and found good accommodation in one of the hotels. This was unlike in the past when the team struggled to even find transport to travel for a league game in Lobatse.

The Notwane official said even though they lost the game there was some remarkable improvement.

He said since they took charge of the team, they were able to get the players to train on time.  He revealed that all the money paid out for the television rights would be used to pay the players.

He said they have requested the Premier League to halt the funds pending the case seeking to nullify Mogapi’s ownership of the team.   The case will be heard at the Gaborone High Court on Wednesday.  Mogashoa said the team has not been doing due to poor preparations with the coach have to see to the welfare of players.

Mogashoa feels that the team would be back in shape at the beginning of the second round.

He said they have talked to their technical committee to see if they want to make any signings during the transfer window.

The Notwane sub-committee is made up of Arnold Somoloka (chairman) and Brown Gasemotho (vice chairman, Barney Mogodi (secretary), Joyce Thebe (vice secretary), Ken Bainame (welfare manager) Letsogile Pilato (vice welfare manager) and Shimmy Moonwa (treasurer).

The additional committee members are Motsereganyi Phokoletso and Jackie Gaarongwe.
