Buccaneers set to snare Ngele

However, former Pirates star Benedict Vilakazi warns such a move would be suicidal. Ngele’s brace last Saturday sunk the Buccaneers in the Telkom Knockout final, further increasing interest in the former Santos and Township Rollers star.

The Zebras’ ace cancelled out Lucky Lekgwathi’s goal with a classy finish from a tight angle before putting Dikwena in front with another world-class goal.

Makaab told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he had received inquiries from big clubs including Pirates, but insisted they wanted to take him to Europe.

“Of course there has been interest from all the big clubs but the idea is to take him to Europe,” Makaab said.

“You have got to have a special quality to be a striker.

Tsotso is a natural goalscorer and has a lovely touch on the ball. He has all the attributes of a good modern striker,” Makaab has previously said.

But has warned the player against such a move.

“I know it is quite tempting but as a player you need to also look at your type of play before moving to a club.

His type of play may not suit Pirates because they play a fast game especially when they attack.

They have players like Daine Klate and Tlou Segolela in attack,” Vilakazi said.

Vilakazi believes Tsotso has thrived on the players around him at Stars.

“He has players like Robert Ng’ambi whose style suits him.

If he goes there (Pirates), either he will have to compromise his play or Pirates will have to do that for him,” he said.

Ngele has done extremely well in the Absa Premiership. He scored 10 league goals in 20 league starts and two starts in cup games.
