Boxers sweat hard in readiness for Games

Botswana Boxing Association (BoBa) secretary-general Dirang Thipe, who also manages the team, said the squad resumed training on December 8 and will break for the festive on Sunday.

The youth team will report for camp again early next for further rigorous training.

'This time around we want to perform better and not just take part or add numbers,' added Thipe.

He said the team, coached by Master Luza and Othusitse Mogotsakgotla, trains twice a day, highlighting that this is the final boxing squad that will be representing Botswana next year.

'Physique is a crucial aspect in boxing and we are seriously working on that, and I am really happy with the way our preparations are going,' he said.

The Botswana boxing teams: Women: Koketso Dipogiso (51kg), Emily Tshoswane (54kg), Keamogetse Kenosi (60kg), and Katlego Olatotse (69kg); Men: Otukile Mahommed (49kg), Kutlwano Ogaketse (52kg), Ontlogetse Qaate (56kg), Ame Katlhokofa (60kg), Atang Mosenke (64kg) and Wame Mathonse 69kg).
