League not amused at Rankgomo's wayward antics

The sentiment was echoed by South East Region chairperson, Ezekiel Mokgosi, who witnessed former BMC and Centre Chiefs player Ringo Rankgomo refuse to be substituted in a First Division South East Regional league game over the weekend.

Rankgomo is back with Naughty Boys after his stints at Centre Chiefs and later BMC. And it was in the game against Sweepers in Tlokweng on Saturday that Rankgomo showed little respect for his bench.

During the game Rankgomo looked unfit and either ignored or responded mischievously to the coach's advise.

The technical team decided to substitute him in the 55th minute. The match commissioner was informed and his number was flashed, but he refused to leave the pitch, to the surprise of the bench match commissioners and supporters.

His coached raised his voice to call him out, but Rankgomo ignored him forcing the referee to continue the game. Later in the game Rankgomo executed a beautiful bicycle kick to beat the Sweepers' goalkeeper. Instead of celebrating his beauty Rankgomo headed for the bench swearing and showing the middle finger. Mokgosi, who was also a match commissioner at the game, was not happy with Rankgomo's behaviour, considering the fact that he was a senior player who young players look up to hence it was important to display good behaviour all the time. He said it was pleasing to see former elite league players joining their lower leagues, as this would help improve its quality, but the region was not going to let these players do as they please. Mokgosi hoped Naughty Boys management would make sure that they sit down with Rankgomo to solve this problem for the best of the club
