Sacked Motlhabankwe, Godirwang linked with BMC

The two got the sack together with Kago Nfila and assistant coach Innocent Morapedi on Monday, just a day after the team lost 2-1 to Miscellaneous in a league match.

BMC look set to land the signatures of the two players who they were scheduled to meet yesterday to finalise the deal.

The players claim their contracts have expired and team wanted them extended without signing-on fees. On the other hand, the club accuses the players of going on a drinking binge ahead of their game against Miscellaneous.

Morapedi also found himself without a job after returning from national duty last week.

When Morapedi was busy preparing the national Under-20 team for the COSAFA tournament, Chiefs hired former Extension Gunners coach, China Matlhaku to assist their Serbian mentor Dragojlo Stanojlovic.

Ironically, Morapedi had just replaced Matlhaku as the Under-20 team coach.

Unconfirmed reports are that his salary for November was not paid and upon enquiry he was given the run-around.

“He inquired about his salary and was given a bit of a run around. He has since written a letter to us asking us to come clean if we no longer want him,” said a club source.

Morapedi has not attended any training session or game since returning from Lesotho.

The coach confirmed he had not attended training, saying this was because the sessions were held in the mornings when he was at work.

However, he could not explain why he was not at the Miscellaneous XI game over the weekend.

“I do not know anything about that (not being part of Chiefs anymore). Ask the Centre Chiefs people because if you ask me, I do not know anything,” he said.

Efforts to get a comment from Chiefs manager Clifford Mogomotsi were fruitless as his phone went unanswered.

Chiefs have also issued a warning to seven players telling them to shape up or lose their jobs. Jabu Pilane is said to be one of the players warned to put his act in order.
