From Eureka to Euri

It seems he is not the only artist who feels like a sudden stage name change. Our very own Eureka, real name Tebogo Motsie, has rechristened himself as Euri.

While Snoopzilla may be grappling with staying relevant with the constant change of identity, not the same can be said for Euri whose career is on the rise.

His latest hit song Mosadi is currently on every fan’s song list following the release of his latest album From Francistown With Love.

Mosadi is a dedication to the short man’s commitment to his long-time sweetheart following their recent nuptials.

Euri is a good example that perseverance pays.  From very humble beginnings under Chilly Moncho's Afro-Heavens, he has steadily revolved into a giant among local rappers. His hit song Machonisa stirred things up in the hip-hop circles a few years back.

His passionate performance of the song on stage gave it more meaning and has further endeared him to music followers.

But if Machonisa provided the spark that set his career on a glowing path then the track Mosadi is likely to create the inferno that might leave competitors fanning the smoke.

The number, featuring rising Afro-pop sensation Lizibo has been enjoying a lot of airplay and is set to push him up the popularity stakes.

But it is not only Mosadi which should get Euri’s fans excited this festive season and beyond.

The 10-track album is a good composition.

Featuring various musicians in the project such as Brando, Tshepo Lesole, HHP, Scar and Sethunya has done a world of good to Euri's latest release as it offers the listener a variety of voices, all converging to add value to the recording.

Of course changing from Eureka to Euri seems to have brought out his lion instincts and hopefully his new life in holly matrimony will add another bliss to a blossoming career.
