The young musician told Showbiz recently that Batswana are yet to see the other side of him, which they have never seen before as he has so many projects to do. Even though 2013 was a great year for him as he managed to notch all three awards he was nominated for. After receiving awards for best newcomer, best male and best Afro pop for his album Better Man, Lizibo believes the best is yet to be seen from him.
As an opera singer at David Slater Music, a choral singer with KTM, crossing over to pop culture has proved to be a very wise decision. He has so far proven to be a force to be reckoned with.
He mentioned that bagging the awards has changed him into better man than he was. 'It has totally changed me personally and musically. I used to say to myself there is a light at the end of the tunnel and now I can see that my light has come, but I can see even a brighter one coming up this year. I wonder if my fans are ready,' he said.Lizibo further added that having a strong supportive family behind him has been an amazing thing as he can always rely on them when things go wrong.
'My family believes in me more than I believe in myself. So their faith in me motivates me to even try harder so that they be proud of me. They are my pillar of strength when I am down,' he said.
His family even went an extra mile to show Lizibo their gratitude on Christmas Day when they slaughtered a cow and cooked a huge meal in honour of his awards. 'The whole of Zwenshambe was invited and I was very grateful to this. It seems the whole village is proud of me,' he giggled. As a way of defending his awards this year, the young crooner is planning big surprises for his fans.
'I am currently working on my much-awaited official launch with a live orchestra choir and band. These are the people who made me what I am today. I started with them and that is where I grew as a singer. I feel I owe it to them to make music with them again.
Besides, together our music is very nice,' he said. He mentioned that he is also working on a television project, which will soon be launch on the small screen.
'I am a man of many talents, so I am also looking into doing collaborations with artists as far as Mozambique. People should expect Lizibo is yet to apply himself in different artistic styles,' he said.
