Rantao's West Africa trip postponed

She had previously shared on her Facebook page that, 'My agent and I just confirmed my trip to West Africa in January 2014 with a series of performances in the Republic of Gambia and the Republic of Senegal. First trip to West Africa and a dream come true'.
Rantao whose career has been growing in leaps and bounds said that her performances in the West African region would be staged in Gambia and Mali.
She added that she might perform in Senegal, but it is yet to be confirmed.
In addition she said that the tour is organised by the Gambian Arts and Culture Department that is working on strengthening ties between their artists, Batswana and Norwegian artists so that there could be some cultural exchange.Furthermore, Rantao said that she will not be the only Motswana gracing West Africa.
She pointed out that she would be there with Norway-based Botswana jazz maestro, Banjo Mosele.
Last year proved to be a good year for Rantao who toured Germany alongside her Kalahari Roses bandmates. Prior to that she had performed at the Durban July after-party as well as in Mozambique.
Towards the end of last year Rantao's album, When The Music Plays bagged three awards at the Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) Awards for Best Afro Jazz, Best Female Artist and Best Packaged Album.Rantao mentioned that she has managed to achieve all that she has because of dedication and hard work.
She said that she has organised herself as an artist and a brand, and that is working for her. She added:
'I am so into social media and my music is available online. I also talk to different people online and that has worked for me.'
