Life will not give up

He has recently released an album entitled Semanjemanje vs. Woza December, which is a mixture of Kwaito and hip pop songs.  Although this is his second album, Modisaotsile was quick to reveal that his first release did not do well in sales, as it was never officially launched.  As a result he decided to combine it with the second album.

“My first release was a kwaito album and it was called Semanjemanje. For my second album I decided to do a different genre, which is hip pop.  I fell in love with both of the genres though they seem so far apart from each other, but my combination is what makes my album unique,” he said.

He pointed out that so far the album is doing very well compared to the first one. He said that this year he would work with a team of marketing professionals good at their job.

The album is divided into two parts.  One part has songs that challenge the negative way in which society lives and gives advice on how to live right.  The other consists of feel good songs.

He added that songs that seem to have a lot of impact on people are Woza December featuring BK Proctor, Semanjemanje and Ngwana Wa Tshwenya.  “All these songs are party songs that can be danced to. They were a big hit in December. Semanjemanje is a Zulu word meaning ‘these days’.  I named the album Semanjemanje vs. Woza December because I believe music these days is a powerful weapon that can be used to address any issue in life,” he said. Modisaotsile mentioned that the album was released in last month to coincide with the December festivals and celebrations. “My album has the best of both worlds and can be enjoyed by different people of different ages.  Even religious people love it, as there is a certain song in there that speaks to them. The song is called Rara Wa Rona, which is the Lord’s Prayer sang in Zulu and Tswana,” he said.

He added that producers Tshepo Lesole and BK Proctor worked with him on this album. BK Proctor who’s famous for producing best Hip pop songs did all hip pop songs in the album while Lesole did mainly the kwaito tunes.

Apart from music, Modisaotsile is a teacher by profession who also owns a clothing company, Semanjemanje, which sells t-shirts and hoodies of the same brand.  “I believe my music and clothing brand will grow into being the biggest worldwide and hopefully in the future I will add more merchandise like bags, caps and water bottles,” he said.
