MC Maswe wounded by Minister's crushing comments

The minister pointed out that the artist's dancers perform half-naked and their dances are not friendly to the eye, which is not good for the public. Speaking to Showbiz recently Maleka mentioned that he was very crushed upon hearing the minister's comments.

'I wonder why he talked about only my dancers while there are other artists who have dancers who wear the same attire, why is he judging my dancers' attire? People wear matlalo when performing, leaving little to the imagination, but we have accepted these types of attire as culture,' he said.

He further added that as a born-again Christian, he decided to pray for the minister so that God shows him the light and hopefully he might realise that he was wrong to say that.

'If you are a true believer you should know that God loves us all and does not judge but most importantly attire and dance do not affect a person's character,' he said.

The young musician further revealed that blessings have been coming his way as he recently released a gospel album. He said he has been getting contracts from companies, which is good for his career.

'I almost died last year because I was attacked by a terrible disease, but it was only through God's grace that I survived after I did an operation. It was then that I released that I should change my bad ways and start living for my Saviour so as a way of thanking him.  I decided to do a gospel album that praises him and his amazing ways,' he said.

He added that the album has 11 gospel tracks that have a mosakaso feel to it. The album entitled Legodimo is said to be doing very well as Batswana has embraced it.

'The songs that are currently people's favourites are Let It Rain, Morena Jeso and Jeso Ke Ngaka. These songs talk about God's greatness and His wonderful ways, He is the Alpha and Omega and the King of all kings so He deserves all praises,' he said.

He also pointed out that he was approached by ACHAP to be their brand ambassador. He said his role is to sensitise the public about HIV/AIDS. Currently the campaign is at Tutume district.  It started in November and ends in June.

Another blessing that he said God gave him is the land that he plans to construct a lodge in. 'I am building a lodge at Gojane, just a few kilometres after Sese village so people should come and support me,' he said.

The young man also added that Zimbabwean and Namibian promoters approached him to help them scout for talent in Botswana, as they are interested in working with Botswana artists. He said he has also been visiting various schools in giving testimonies about his life. He added that being a drug addict and changing into a full-time Christian motivated him to share his story with young school children.

'This is my way of giving back to the community and showing them.

I am grateful for all the support and love I have received from them over the past years of my musical career,' he said.
