The year 2013 was a good year for the house band that only emerged a year before. The four-member group has so far proven that all it takes is determination, hard work and passion to turn a dream into reality.
With their unique style of performance, more especially on the drums and other instruments, it is no wonder that people mistake them for South Africans.
They usually get compared to artists like Uhuru and Black Motion, as their deliverance is almost similar. Their hit singles Oni Korota and Kave Ngoma have been playing on every radio station and topping chats. The videos are also top quality and the fans could not be happier.
The members who seem to be a hit, especially with the ladies are all still pursuing different courses at Limkokwing University. The members, Aaron 'Riise' Motlhabani, Omphile Ludo Baoki, Kgosi Toto and Roy Kasala, are indeed young men with a goal in mind. 'We want the children who love us to see that education is important whether one is an artist or not. For one to be successful in life they ought to have gone to school,' said Motlhabani.
The band's manager, Kgolaganyo Phukha Entaile, mentioned in an interview with Showbiz that the group has been doing exceptionally well performing at different events.
'People love the band and they seem to can't get enough of us. We recently performed at Lesotho where we were invited by a radio station that was celebrating its 10th anniversary and I must say the reception we got there was beyond amazing,' he said.
Entaile added that he was very shocked, as he never thought they were known even across the borders. At home the group has been receiving more than enough support. They were recently the toast of the night at the Beach party event where after their performance people still shouted for an encore.
The Back2Skul event was also no exception as they were the night crawler's favourite. The band managed to make a hit song remixing the theme track of the event, Rraagwe Tinana.
'It's amazing how we have managed to leave a lasting impression on people even before the release of our first album. This just shows that our album is going to be highly appreciated,' he said.
Entaile also mentioned that the band is currently in the studio working on their first album, which is scheduled for release in a few months. He said the album will shock a lot of people as they are working on something of a first in Botswana.
'We have so far done a few songs, which look very promising and we are still looking to collaborate with some of the best local artists and even artists from other countries,' he said.
He explained that they are under positive pressure to make great music, more especially after the high standard they have set for themselves with their hit singles.
'But all is well and it looks like 2014 is going to be yet another great year for us,' Entaile said.
