Ja Rule is excited about coming to Bots

The show, duped ‘Big Bang concert’ is organised by G-Boys Entertainment and DC Tours.Lapologang Molemele told Showbiz that the gruff-voiced rapper is super excited about coming to Botswana, as it will be his first time. He assured the rapper’s die-hard local fans fire works.

“We believe an artist is like wine, they mature with age that is why we are bringing him. This is his first time coming to an African country and he is very excited about it and as a result he wants to impress,” he said.

Molemele said they expecting more than 7000 people to attend the show.

“People still love his music and I am pretty sure that many Batswana can relate to his music and pretty much understand it. He is still a big shot even after years of not having released an album. His music still makes people love hip pop, I believe he will forever remain our favourite even if new rappers come to the game,” he said.

The 37-year old rapper is currently making headlines in the US after playing lead character in the movie ‘I am in love with a church girl’.

“He is also touring Europe at the moment, and the most interesting part is that his shows are always sold out which proves how he is he’s still on top of his game and how people still appreciate him and his music,” he said.

Ja Rule made his mark in the rap scene in 1999 with his debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Since, Ja Rule has had several hits that made the top 20 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, including ‘Between Me and You’ with Christina Milian, ‘I’m Real’ which came from the Murder Remix. Tracks like ‘Ain’t It Funny’ with Jennifer Lopez, ‘Always on Time’ and ‘Mesmerize’ both with Ashanti, and ‘Wonderful’ debuting R. Kelly and Ashanti kept him at the top of the game.

With 10 albums under his belt, Ja Rule has earned four Grammy nominations.

Molemele said the tickets for the show are already on sale, P1 500 for VVIP, P1 000 VIPs, P300 for gold section and P200 for all others. Transport to the venue will be provided.
