The event, which will be held at Game city roof terrace, is organised by Phenyo S Ntshinogang and Dlamini Thebe of Dladleng Entertainment Centre.
“Fresh is one of the best if not only house music Icon, over the years he has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. His latest album that he will be launching here is so good that no one cannot really resist especially if you understand house music and appreciate it,” Ntshinogang told Showbiz yesterday.
He said DJ Fresh wanted to launch his album in Botswana first because this is the place where he first started out as a young DJ. “This is his way of saying thank you to his fans here for the support he has been getting from his home country all the years he has been in the entertainment scenes,” he said.
The muscular and tattooed master mixer, who is credited with pioneering the house music revival especially in southern Africa has sent a message through the promoters for his fans to get ready for a night to remember.
“Not only does his single from the album receiving massive air play in both local and international radio stations, he says he is also going to give an outstanding performance that will go down in the history books of entertainment,” said Ntshimogang.
DJ Fresh has more than 15 albums under his belt. Songs from his latest offering that are currently talking the airwaves by storm are; Nora En Pure, Come with me, Thinking about you, Gusto, Disco’s revenge and Sweet melody.
Before the man of the moment takes the stage, the night’s cream of the crop line-up includes Vee who is currently treading especially after the release of his hit songs Baba and Eita, SA’s Hip Pop Pantsola (HHP) who is no stranger to Botswana and Drama Boi who just released a new album entitled Wa Makeishane.
“We decided to only have the best performing along side DJ Fresh because we feel as a brand he should be in a line up that has music giants also who have made a brand for themselves,” he said
Djs honouring the master mixer’s night are DJ Sly, Easy B, Gouveia, Ricky Lamar, T-izzy, Kaylo, Shaboo, Chabo, Tdo Soul freak (Mafikeng), Sebastian Dutch (Zambia) and Oak the Champ. The master of ceremonies will be Dolla Mac of Yaronafm and T.H.A.B.O of RB2. Tickets are P100 for normal and P200 for VIP. Ntshinogang added that the line up is designed in such a way that, “It will be Botswana vs. Zambia vs. SA. It’s a line up that will satisfy everybody, it will be clash of giants and we will see which country is the best.”
