The songbird, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, will be performing to a live audience alongside newly formed house band Team Distant for this year’s first Mascom life sessions.
Although the group may be new to the game with less than a year in, they are pulling crowds wherever they go.
Their two singles Oni Korota and Kave Ngoma are doing well. The group which is made up of four young men is making waves so much that talk is that they may be the next big thing to emerge from Botswana after award winning hip pop artist Zeus. Now the group will be introduced to a mature audience this Friday.
The group manager, Kgolaganyo Phukha Entaile told Showbiz that they have been practicing non-stop and as a result are planning to show Zahara that the talent here is unbelievable. He said they are planning to have a healthy competition with Zahara.
'Zahara is a well known artist who never disappoints and we all know how talented she is but we are also going to show how gifted we are and she better watch out because we might just steal her show,' he said.
Entaile further added that they are grateful to the opportunity of performing along side one of the biggest artist like Zahara. “All this shows how we have grown as a brand, people love us and not only are we impressing the youth but we are also reaching an older age. This just motivates us to work hard thus not disappoint our fan base,' he said.
He said his artists were privileged to represent the country and as a result they were under pressure to not disappoint. 'We take this as a positive pressure that is going to grow us, it is amazing how long we have come to be where we are today and all this is because of the unbelievable support we have been getting from Batswana. This is one of the reasons we do not want to disappoint them,' he said.
He said they are currently planning to take their music to other parts of Africa as it is in high demand. 'We are in this to win it, we are giving it our 110 percent.'
The members, Aaron 'Riise' Motlhabani, Omphile Ludo Baoki, Kgosi Toto and Roy Kasala who are all in their early 20s are all excited about the opportunity they have been given.
