According to the police, it was the first registered road fatality of the year 2014.
In an interview with Mmegi, the head of traffic police at Kutlwano Police Station, superintendent Pelontle Kesupile confirmed the accident yesterday. “It is true we are investigating a case in which a BMW car had an accident along the A1 road and a female of about 30 years lost her life,” he said and further revealed that two males, the driver aged 28, and another 38 year-old passenger are hospitalised at Nyangabwe Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
Kesupile said that they do not know what could have caused the accident.
“Investigations are ongoing to establish what happened. We are very worried about accidents along this road, “ said Kesupile.
“That road is still under construction. It has potholes and is narrow. This means motorists should drive at a low speed. We are worried about accidents on the A1 road. Last year there were eight fatal accidents along this road, “ he said.
