Gops launches sixth album

The album entitled Dikgato Tsa Me is expected to hit the shelves end of this week. Speaking to Showbiz recently, Gops said he decided to name the album Dikgato Tsa Me because he is recapping all the good and bad memories he experienced as a musician.

“I have gone through a lot of challenges and I have managed to overcome those obstacles, sometimes people look at you and they think life is easy because you are an artist, little do they know that at night, you may be crying yourself to sleep,” he said.

He added that as an artist he has seen the good and bad side of promoters and producers. “These people have the power to milk you of all of your money. While they keep getting rich, the artist continues to be poor while they are the ones who bring money to their stable,” he said.

Apart from the tough times in the entertainment industry, Gops said he has so far enjoyed being a musician. He the dog eat dog industry has moulded him into a mature, responsible man. “My maturity will be demonstrated in my album, my fans will be able to notice that maturity. The youth who look up to me will be proud to tell the world that I inspire them and hopefully, my music will make a difference on someone’s life,” he said.

He added that he has given the album the attention it deserves as he feels it will do better than his previous works. He said he has been lazy with the other albums and as a result, he did not market them well. That is why they did not sell well. “With this album though, I have invested more of my time to make it a success,” he said.

The album has 10 tracks, two of which Letlhogonolo and Nnaya Moa are from previous albums. The new hit tracks are already being appreciated by his die-hard fans are Gorata, Botsotsi, Mmata Wame, Mpherefere and Botshelo.

Gops said that most of his songs are about love. He said he values and respects love and women in general. “People will notice that most of my songs are addressed to women because I feel they are the mothers of our nation and without them, the nation will is lost. I am living testimony of that. I was raised by a single parent after having lost my dad at a young age, so I totally owe all my successes to my mom,” he said.

The excited musician stated that the new album is not for him but for the people. He said he would sell it in other African countries. “I know that in order for me to succeed outside my country, I have to make it home first so my aim is to impress here first and so for those who want to see me live, come to SSKB,” he said.
