Fighters Crush Masitaoka

Fighters did not show any respect for Masitaoka as they took less than ten minutes to find their first goal through the foot of Daniel Mogapi. The goal brought confusion in Masitaoka players. In the 20th minute, Gopolang Matlou got the second goal for the hosts. The game continued with Fighters enjoying possession and showing intention of extending their lead. Thabo Mogapi took one back as he netted for Masitaoka in the 25th minute after a defensive blunder.

The goal appeared to have stirred the hornet’s nest as Fighters scored their third goal through Tebogo Boitumelo’s header. Masitaoka defence was left ball watching when the free kick was taken and that made it easy for Boitumelo to head the ball home.

Abednico Powell attempt in the 40th minute missed the target by a whisker. Before recess, James Moloi added into Masitaoka’s woes through a good finish in the 43rd minute.

In the second stanza, Masitaoka were trying to get back in the match. The side was now able to hold Fighters in the midfield. Masitaoka was initiating some attacks, but finishing was a problem. Patrick Bonang tested Onnetse Ditshito’s nerves from a distance, but the shot hit side netting. Masitaoka player was brought down inside the box, but the referee did not point to the spot.

Masitaoka coach, Kabo Bolokwe told Monitor Sport that it was clear that Fighters had a better game plan on the day. He said that they lost the game in the first half. Bolokwe explained that he has immature players who could not match Fighters players.

“We made silly errors in defence and we were punished. We only got back into the match in the second half. We managed to cut the many moves that were being made by Fighters,” he said.

Bolokwe pointed out that they created chances, but were let down by finishing. He stated if they had got a goal in the second half, it could have been better. He explained that the loss means he should go back and work hard on his charges.
