Word has it that the group, which is made up of three young men, Leo Malomo, Tiro Thebe and Bakang Mphele has thus far managed to attract fans from as far as United States of America (USA) as well as other African countries.
Not only does their stage presence and attire fascinate people, but their appearance has also left many with burning questions about their real age. They recently told Showbiz that they may appear to be in their 40s when on stage, but they are actually in their early 20s.
Their album had hits like Sebinjolo, Dalas, Mma Sechaba, Rra Combi and the title track Tanki ya Motswana that still has people dancing. “People are still shocked when we tell them that we never got any money concerning the CD sales.
At least we were able to make a lot of money from live performances we did in the different shows we were booked for,” said Malomo. He added that they would be embarking on a tour where they plan to perform in different countries all over Africa including the States.
He said: “Our album has just started reaching other countries and they seem to be loving it. Maybe it’s the fact that we are different both in our music and performances but they have even told the promoters that they want to see us performing in their countries.”
Malomo group said that they would be performing in Mafikeng and Rustenburg beginning of March where they will be doing promotional company advertising for their business partner. They will then be heading to Zimbabwe were they will be doing a few more appearances in different shows.
Malomo further added that they did their album in Zimbabwe at Diamond Studios and as a result the manager there has officially started distributing their music. “He is the man who will be taking us overseas because he has contacts and another studio there. Apparently the people that side are obsessed with our music videos although they do not understand our language,” he said.
When asked if they have plans to make another album, Malomo said that at the moment they are focusing on promoting this album and taking it outside the country.
Until they are satisfied with the outcome of the promotional tour then that is when they will make another one.
“We believe in making not just an album, but an album that will get people excited and make them talk about it even 10 years from now.
That can only be achieved if we take our time in making it. We do not believe in rushing things,” Malomo said.
