Investment Pitso postponed again

He said that the Pitso has been postponed after advise from the government that they should not rush it.

The Francistown Pitso, a business event expected to kickstart the programme of luring investors to the city, is part of the Vision 2022 of Francistown where the city wants to be seen at a high investment level.

Kgalajwe said that after they consulted with the government especially the Ministry of Trade and Industry, they were advised to take time in planning the event.

“In my previous speech, I mentioned that the much anticipated Pitso had been postponed to March 26 and 27 and I regret to inform you that it has been postponed once again and the new dates will be communicated in due course,” he said.

He said that after the extensive consultations the Pitso had to be postponed.

“It is worth noting that the postponement is a result of extensive consultations with government, especially the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MIT) and other stakeholders who advised us not to rush this Pitso as it might end up not achieving the intended goal,” he said.  He further told the council that Botswana Investment Trade Centre (BITC) has come on board and is helping to organise an event of international standards.

So far BITC has been deliberating with the steering committee of the Pitso and conducting workshops in preparation of the event, Kgalajwe disclosed.
