La-Timmy back in the studio

La-Timmy entered the music industry in 2008 when he released a single, Ke Bona Motho, which got him noticed instantly.  He later released an album titled Nfana Wa Kasane.  Lately he has been trending as a resident DJ of a music programme, Flava Dome and Nanzala Vuke hit maker.

Speaking to Showbiz recently, La-Timmy mentioned that he is now under so much pressure to release an even better track.

He said he is aware that Nanzala Vuke created quite a stir and gave him even wider appeal amongst the audience.

“All eyes are on me now after I gave them Nanzala Vuke, they want to see if I am just a chancer or if I am the real thing.  People are now expecting me to give them something, which is far much better than the song.  That is exactly what I am planning to do,” he said.

He added that he needs to keep up his reputation because if he does not he might lose his fans which is something that no artist would like to see happening.

“I need all the support I can get from all my followers and I need to attract new ones,” he said.

As it stands La-Timmy has already recorded six songs but has still not made the hit track. He said he is now putting all his energy and creativity into making the hit a single.  It would be easy to release an album after the single is out, he said. “I am currently working with DJ Kuchi and people know how good the man is.  More so that he has worked with many international acts like RJ Benjamin, DJ Fresh and others who are respected in the industry so all this screams ‘smashing hit’,” he said.

He added that working with DJ Kuchi is a strategic move that will add more flavour to the song. “Not a lot will change though. My fans should expect the same soulful and emotional touch in vocals, but I will not forget to give them the dance feel in the song too,” he said.

La-Timmy said he has discovered that singing in his mother tongue, Sesubiya has earned him a lot of supporters. As a result in this album he will also showcase the different dimensions of playing with the language.

“I am proud of my roots and I am yet to share all this with my fans.

I was raised from a culture that fascinated me from a tender age and all this will be visible in most of my songs and who knows even this single might contain a bit of it,” he said.
