Speaking to Showbiz, Kobe mentioned though she developed interest in being a makeup artist four years back, she only started mastering the art late last year.
“A woman by the name Jennie had pigmented skin, but she covered it so well. I became keen on finding out how to achieve such a flawless look, I believe that a woman should take care of their skin so as to age well,” she said.
She added that Jennie’s ability to conceal with the use of make up made her look beautiful. Kope taught her that nothing in life is impossible, but mostly it taught her that make up is a weapon that can be used to beautify a person.
A makeup and cosmetics business like any other industry needs commitment, dedication and passion. Even though the trade is still relatively underexploited, 23-year-old Kope is more than determined to prosper in it. She plans to join the ranks of the best in the world.
“Ever since that time I have been experimenting with a different kinds of make up. I love discovering new things with makeup but what really makes me proud is seeing a happy client. My main goal is always to put a smile on my client’s face and to have them feel beautiful,” she said.
Kobe is quick to add that her secret as a make up artist is that when she does her clients, she makes sure that she gives them a glowing youthful look.
“No woman wants to look old so that is what I always strive to do, because there are so many make up artists out there I make sure my work stands out from the rest so as to attract more clientele,” she said.
She mentioned that what she loves most about her work is the fact that she gives women a chance to smile and feel beautiful.
“Women go through or deal with a lot of things on a daily basis so making them feel special makes my adrenaline rush. It’s thrilling to sleep at night knowing I made someone happy,” she said.
She continued that being beautiful goes hand in hand with being confident. Kobe added so far she has done make-up for so many famous music artists who were content with her services.
“My charges range from P180 to P250 depending on the occasion. This is the best price so far as many make up artists charge a lot more. The most important thing is to do the job well and make the customer want to come back,” she said.
In five years’ time, Kobe sees herself owning a makeup business that will hire other professionals.
