Gaborone Three batted first and won by 68 runs with Malik and Nair displaying some solid batting.
By the ninth over, Gaborone Three was riding high on 90 runs for the loss of no wickets. Bowlers, Deepak Madangarli and Javed Malik found it rough at the hands of the batsmen. Malek finally broke the partnership in the 11th over when he first bowled out Nair for 40 runs from 30 deliveries and Malik who got 44 runs from 25 deliveries. All rounder, Reginald Nehonde came in to create and form another solid partnership with Nawaz.
Lobatse-Kanye fielded poorly and leaked runs. The game changed in the 14th over when they introduced pace bowler, Abdulla Malek who claimed three dot balls in a row and made life difficult for Gaborone Three. Azair Sohail caused problems for Nawaz who was lucky to be dropped by Madangarli. Nehonde continued to frustrate the fielders leading Gaborone Three to 152 runs after 17 overs. Gaborone Three closed at 180.
Lobatse-Kanye opening batsmen, Ayaz Sheikh and Sohail started slowly in the chase. Sheikh was run out by Nehonde after managing three from 10 balls. Hard-hitting Rauf Sheikh came in to partner Sohail. The partnership was broken when Rauf went out for an lbw to Kelvis Zemba.
Lobatse-Kanye’s run rate reduced in the 12th over when they had 86 for four. Sohail’s reign came to an end when debutant Sirhdad Rangaswamy caught him from a Soraj Nail delivery. Hozaifa Malik came and only lasted five deliveries as he was bowled out by Namal Bandara. Kanye-Lobatse was all out for 112, handing Gaborone Three a 68-run victory.
