BPC employee pleads guilty to cash theft

Kenneth Maruapula, 33, was making an initial appearance before Principal Magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba at the Francistown Magistrates’ Court where he is accused of stealing P567,145.86 between December 2010 and March 2012 from the corporation. Maruapula is an accountant with BPC.
The money came into his possession by virtue of his employment.
He is charged with 35 counts of stealing by servant. A remorseful Maruapula pleaded guilty after the prosecutor Atina Mandigo applied for charges to be read to him and his plea taken. After the plea, Mandigo applied for another date to be set when facts of the matter will be read to the accused. Maruapula is represented by attorney Kenneth Obeng.
