Haunted by the possibility of relegation, Notwane came into the match in desperate need of points. Although they did not play entertaining football, Toronto would be happy with the result.

Former international striker Tshepiso ‘Sox’ Molwantwa got the first opportunity in the sixth minute, but missed as he chose the far post, trying to stretch Mokibe in the BMC goal. After scoring, Maswena released Letumile Molebatse in the 40th minute after turning Tshepo Motlhabankwe on the right.  However, the young midfielder casually shot straight at the goalkeeper.

After the break, Notwane looked shaky and were nearly shocked in the 47th minute when goalkeeper Itumeleng Selepa struggled to control a Sageby Sandaka shot. Luckily, there was no one from BMC to capitalise on the opportunity. As Notwane tried to take charge of the match, BMC conceded a free-kick just on the edge of the box in the 52nd minute but Isaac Paeye shot wide.

BMC’s Kaone Molefe, Mqobile Mpala and Unobatsha Mbaiwa failed to click with only Sandaka showing some urgency yet he remained isolated and ineffective upfront.  Woeful shooting was a major bane of BMC with Amos Godirwang wasting a glorious opportunity to level in the 78th minute.

Sandaka tried to bring his team back into the match after connecting substitute Kago Segokgo’s corner kick but Selepa did well to acrobatically deal with the effort.
