Now T.H.A.B.O is back in the studio working on his fifth album, which promises to be another smashing release.
Although Bolokwe has found another career as radio host, he recently told Showbiz that working on air has not come between him and his God-given talent.
“I am a performer and that will not change in the long run. Although I love radio, singing has always been my first love and I am sure my albums have spoken volumes for me,” he said.
Bolokwe added that his album will hit stores immediately after winter as at the moment he is putting finishing touches to it.
“I am a perfectionist and I make sure that my work is always up to standard that is why I always take my time when making music. I believe in giving my fans the best songs that they can still dance to even after years pass,” he said.
The album, which is titled Thaboholic, has already given two smash hits namely Monoso and Somebody. He added that the amount of airplay these songs have been receiving has proven that the album will be much appreciated.
“People love these songs and they have been asking me to speed up the process and release the album as they cannot wait to see what other songs are like,” he said.
He added that he has worked with other talented artist on this album including house band Team Distant’s Roy K, BK Proctor, Eugene Jackson and Chef Gustos from Amanandos.
“My main target for this album is the youth. Some of my songs will give light to them as I tackle issues that affect them, but in a more relaxed way. This is a house-kwaito mix album and I know these genres usually appeal more to the youth. I have realised that the youth party more and the songs in the album have a party-feel to them, so I thought a better way to get a point across to the youth is through music,” he said.
He added that his fans would appreciate the fact that he took a break from music, as he was busy working on Thaboholic.
“This is a 2014 must have album and people will notice that all the 14 songs in it are good. It is the type of album that will make you put it on repeat many times,” he said.
