“Dan Tshanda of Splash fame did both the mixing and the production of the album and I can promise Batswana that it is going to be one of my most powerful albums,” Vee said.
He added that he has already sampled the album to his fans lately and that the response is overwhelming.
According to the artist, 50 percent of the album contains gospel lyrics, which seem to cement his announcement last year that he has joined the gospel genre for good. But why infuse gospel in a pantsula album? The gruff-voiced artist said that even the lovers of pantsula or disco music should enjoy gospel in the genre that they enjoy the most.
“I decided to engage Dan Tshanda to work with me on this album because he is the undisputed King of Pantsula music. I was still a toddler when he released his first album and I believe I needed his immense experience and talent on the album,” he said. Vee added that the album, which contains eight tracks was supposed to be released during Easter holidays, but the release was delayed because of other commitments.
He said though he is confident that the album is going to be a major success, he was not in a rush to release it because Supernatural Vol. 1 was still doing well on the market.
Supernatural Vol. 1 is the artist’s debut gospel album that he used as a yardstick to test the contemporary gospel market.
The artist said the release of the album will most certainly see him touring with the Dalom Music Production stable whose artists have a huge following in the country.
He further revealed that the much-anticipated Supernatural Vol. 2 to be released in August this year adding that he has already started working on the album. Although Vee has over the years released music that mostly appeals to secular audiences he has publicly professed that he is a born-again Pentecostal Christian and a minister with the True Bread Centre in Gaborone. The artist has so far released more than 11 albums winning himself legions of fans in the process.
Meanwhile, his stable Black Money Makers (BMM) has released a single namely Mo Toropong by new artist, Figos Mafoko aka Figos Lezoty.
Another BMM artist, Mingo is also set to release a single that features Vee soon. Interestingly, Mingo was blessed with a girl child on the day of his boss’ wedding.
