Mandoza who had a glittering decade-long career has confessed he has had difficulties in both his career and personal life in recent years.

Hits such as Nkalankatha and 50-50 had propelled him to superstardom, but his world came crushing down some years ago when reports of infidelity and wild partying emerged.

Ever since Mandoza then has been keeping a low profile and efforts to revitalise his fading career seemed to be failing.

He and wife Mpho recently revealed to Drum magazine that they lost everything and that they only have ‘each other’.

The Godoba hitmaker returns to the Lions Park near Gaborone in two months’ time where he last performed during the 2013 Boosta Bash.

Also scheduled to perform at the show is Bongo Maffin who recently performed at the Mascom Live Sessions at Botswanacraft.

The South African group known for hits such as Thathisghubu recently made a comeback after over a decade of being quite, with each of the members pursuing other ventures.

Thandizwa Mazwai has turned to jazz music. Speedy Matlhaku has struggled to find solid ground as a solo performer, while Appleseed has a lukewarm career and Stoan Seate seems to have found new interest in television both as a presenter and actor.

The Bongo Maffin’s reunion excited followers who were reminded of the good old times recently when tracks such as Kura Gune and The Way Kungakhona drove masses crazy across townships in Southern Africa.

Rising Television star Anga Makubelo who plays MJ on South Africa’s blockbuster soap opera Generations is also coming to perform as Naak Musiq.

He has been a regular feature in most shows in Botswana in the last 18 months.
