Bouncy enters the hip-hop scene

“I choose to do hip-hop music as it closely relates to poetry. I figured if I expressed my true feelings through music I would be able to reach a lot more people and my messages will be received,” she said. 

Bouncy added that as a young woman, she wants to show other women that they can do almost anything that men can do as long as they put their ‘A game’ into the things they want to do.  “Sometimes I get more in-touch with my masculine spiritual self and I let that girl live in my music. This is demonstrated in my recently released single called I am A Monster,” she said. She explained that the single is about a young woman telling the world that she might be all pink and glitters, but deep down all that she is a strong somebody who has a stand. “The monster there stands for a woman who can do whatever a man can do and can even do it best,” she said. 

Having a catchy name is important in the music industry business, explains Bouncy who says she coined her name from the fact that she is a bubbly person who is very entertaining and always in a good mood.

“Because of this my friends named me Bouncy because of this personality I posses, which is not common in a lot of people. I am always in a good mood,” she said.

Bouncy is working on her first album to be released soon. She is confident that the album is going to be loved by many as she is making music for the ambitions and confident youth who want to conquer the world.

She said that she draws her inspiration from everyday life encounters that she goes through.  “I look at intriguing, edgy, emotional and what ever mood that people go through and I make a hit song out of that, I also get inspiration from nature because it also has the power to enlighten and brighten somebody’s mood,” she said.  Bouncy further pointed out that she is sure that she is the change that hip-hop music needs at the moment. She said what sets her apart from other artists is the fact that she does not only sing hip hop music but also adds a taste of dance hall to it.  “I fuse dancehall, country and hip hop, which makes a winning combination. This is a first of its kind to our music scenes and judging by the love that my single is receiving I am sure that Batswana are going to love this mixture I am introducing to them,” she said. Bouncy said she is determined to make it big not only locally but internationally as well.  “I want to take my talent outside our country and show the world that Batswana are talent people who are also a force to be reckon with,” she said.
