The famous musician’s ‘limited’ guest list 500 people caused a storm on social media.
Fans vented their anger on different platforms, including a Facebook page called Vee O Ntimile Lenyalo. On the page fans shared their feelings on the matter.
Although the majority seemed to agree that it was wrong for the pint-sized musician to shut them out, there were some who argued that Vee and his wife Kagiso had the right to choose who should or shouldn’t attend their wedding. “I understand where they were coming from. These people love me for real and they feel they are entitled to being close to me all the time,” he said adding that it was impossible to have everybody there. “The negative comments did not disturb me because they are my people,” he said.
Vee’s ‘private’ wedding was held at the wealthy suburb of Ruretse, 30 kilometres east of Gaborone. The guest list included Members of Parliament, celebrities, and Bank of Botswana governor, Linah Mohohlo, among st others.
“I think most people who complained reside in and around Gaborone, but my fan base stretches out to the smallest villages in this country,” he said adding, “what about them?”
The Taku Taku singer said jokingly: “I would have to repeat it around the country because my fans there also needed a chance.”
