Indaba Lodge sales and markerting officer, Michelle Phetlhe, says they embarked on this philantrophic excersize because all children deserve to be happy. “Whenever I visit Ramotswa, I see these children and I even developed a soft spot for them; now they are like my own children. I have been to the school a couple of times with my family and we appreciate these amazing, energetic kids,” she said.

The excursion included going to Air Botswana and visiting the hanger, sitting on the airplane and learning about flying. Phetlhe expressed her satisfaction at the children being able to experience something many people don’t in their life times.

“The kids were very happy- you could see it in their faces. They were so excited because it was their first time seeing an aircraft, let alone being on one! It’s a fascinating experience for everyone,” she said.

Another  motivation for the children going to the airport was that some dream of becoming  pilots and air hostess when they grow up.

“This was also done as a way of giving the school some exposure so that they could be assisted by other companies. Giving back as a company is as important as it is as to an individual. This is our part of thanking the public for their continued support and we give back to them in a form of donation. We also support the pillars of Vision 2016 and want to encourage the spirit of being a just and caring nation,” she said.

Seabelo Express provided transport for all 105 children from the school in Ramotswa.

Cash Bazaar stores also  donated girls shoes while Cadbury’s donated the boys shoes.

Indaba Lodge also gave the kids caps and  donated games for mental stimulation and recreation.
