Botswana Couriers to set up hub in South Africa

Addressing a media briefing recently, the company’s managing director, Leatile Medupe said they are going to focus on cross border consolidation, which will start with the freight hub in South Africa.

He said they are targeting South Africa because it has a bigger market as well as being a big economy.

Medupe said since re-branding last year, Botswana Couriers & Logistics has diversified its wide range of services, adding that they have a large footprint in the country.  He said they have embarked into warehousing and inventory management services, with intention to embark into customs clearing and solution.

Other services in the pipeline include e-commerce solutions.

Medupe said in the past, most of their business was from the domestic market.  Botswana Post has been one of their biggest customers while they also provide service to the mining and manufacturing sector.

Medupe revealed that they have also entered into partnership with the Ministry of Health with the signing of a multi-million Pula contract last year.   Central Medical Stores (CMS) has outsourced its distribution and inventory management to Botswana Couriers.

As part of their expansion plans locally, Botswana Couriers & Logististics has also opened an independent branch in Letlhakane.
