Supply still tight, Eskom

Apart from domestic generation, the South African utility giant is a key source of imports for Botswana. However, Eskom cuts its supplies to Botswana to zero whenever it is forced to shed load in South Africa. Yesterday, the utility issued a statement noting that demand for the rest of the week would continue tight during evening peak hours which occur between 1730hrs and 1830hrs.
However, Eskom said the situation would ease going forward due to forecast milder temperatures. Local Energy Minister, Kitso Mokaila yesterday told a renewable energy conference that the 600MW Morupule B power station was fully up and running.
