KBL through its product, Keone Mooka Mageu has been sponsoring BoBA for the last 13 years, having started in 2001.

BoBA public relations officer, Mmaotho Segotso told Mmegi Sport yesterday that KBL has agreed to continue the sponsorship, though he refused to disclose details.

“KBL has been sponsoring us through their product Keone Mooka Mageu for some years now. We are happy that it has renewed its partnership with BoBA, but I cannot disclose the amount now.

All the details would be disclosed during the launch on Thursday,” said Sebotso. He commended KBL for its role in developing boxing talent in Botswana.  “With KBL as our sponsor, boxing has grown in Botswana. We have produced good boxers like Master Luza, Mmoloki Nogeng, Keneilwe Rakhudu, Emily Tshoswane, Kagiso Bagwasi, Mooketsi Lekgetho, Mohamed Otukile and Oteng Oteng who compete internationally,” Segotso said.

She said they managed to retain KBL’s trust through the successful management of the association. Segotso said in order to sustain the association, there is need for reliable sponsorship from the corporate world. “We are so blessed KBL is our true partner. We promise to use the funds well for the benefit of the association and boxers as we know that this will make our sponsor KBL happy to continue sponsoring us,” she stated.

Meanwhile Segotso said the association is preparing for the preliminaries of the Keone Mooka Mageu Championships on August 30-31 in Kang. Winners will proceed to the next round to be held on September 6.
