MsLissah calls on female artists

The twenty-eight-year-old songstress told Showbiz that being the only female house musician in the country has made her realise that there is nothing to fear about this genre. In fact, she encouraged other female musicians to join her and create a legacy.
MsLissah also vowed to help female artists who want to do house music and also make a number of tracks with them.
She said: “I am willing to help and give support to my fellow sisters who would like to join me in this venture of being a female house musicians.”
She further said gone are the days when people used to think that house music was meant for male artists only, particularly DJs.
She mentioned that for a female house musician to make it in the industry, it requires having heart, persistence and patience.
The musician mentioned that there are certain challenges that come along with being a female house artist; including getting gigs as people are not used to female house artists.
She, however, said that she has been lucky with getting bookings lately.
MsLissah, who started as a backing vocalists for a number of musicians, said that she has been getting a lot of support. Because of this support, her fans call her the first lady of house music. Her latest single Cry No More featuring DJ Oats has almost 3,000 downloads on YouTube and it is receiving massive airplay on radio. MsLissah is currently on the Ngoma Yorira country tour with DJ Oats.
